Very ripe aromas are comprised by notes of cassis, black cherry liqueur and whiffs of wood and the sauvage. The sleek, vibrant and delicious middleweight flavors brim with both dry extract and an appealing bead of minerality on the youthfully austere, firm and powerful finish. This is clearly built-to-age and a wine that's going to need at least some patience.
A bright even purple. While there is plenty of fruit on the nose, the tannins can also be seen. On the palate, the wine tightens up considerably and the granitic tannins do appear, but there is so much fruit to cover them. In the end, this is very well balanced at 14% - needs that to manage the tannins.
