The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Les Feusselottes 1er Cru has a fragrant bouquet with Morello cherries, cranberry and raspberry fruit, well-defined and pure, though I would like a little more complexity given the nobility of the vineyard. The palate is medium-bodied with powdery tannins on the entry. It's not an intense Chambolle but quite linear in style. Saline towards the finish that leans a little towards Morey in style. Enjoy this over the next 12 to 15 years.
An elegant, airy and pure nose blends the essence of both red and dark currant, violet and lavender. The highly seductive and gorgeously textured medium-bodied flavors also flash evident minerality on the impressively long and much better-balanced finale that should also repay a decade plus of keeping.
A blend from two plots with different characters, and it seems to be working well. A bright even purple of medium density. The nose is more forthcoming than Cras. The energy allied to a perfect pitch of ripeness. A fine density of fruit, ripe red berries, and a fine marriage between acidity and fine-grained tannins. A lovely balanced finish. Just on 13%.
