What an amazing Rosso di Montalcino! The 1997 vintage produced wines of exceptional ripeness and richness, both of which are hallmarks of this prodigious young wine. It is deep ruby/purple-colored, with a stunning nose of blackberries, tar, and truffles. An amazing glycerin content gives the wine a voluptuous texture to go along with its super purity, and jammy, ripe flavors. Adequate acidity and tannin provide the framework.

Dark ruby color with a red edge. Superperfumed, with blackberry, licorice and light vanilla. Gorgeous and fresh. Full-bodied, with amazing fruit of currant, raspberry and hints of vanilla. Long and layered. So wonderful. The great Salicutti.
