There are three and a half barrels of the spectacular 2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées, a stunning young wine that blossoms in the glass with a complex bouquet of wild berries, rose hips, warm spices, sweet soil tones and subtle hints of grilled squab. Medium to full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, it's layered and concentrated, built around exquisitely refined tannins and an ample core of succulent fruit.
This too is aromatically quite restrained with its moderately high-toned nose of pomegranate, dark raspberry and cool floral nuances. The super-sleek and equally restrained middle weight flavors seem to be made of liquid rock while delivering stunningly good persistence on the youthfully austere finale. This too is seriously impressive though patience strongly advised.
