Deep medium red. Reticent aromas of black cherry, menthol and minerals. Suave and smooth but taut, with good mineral and medicinal energy to the black cherry and licorice flavors. Not hugely concentrated but juicy and fruity, with enticing lift from mint and menthol.
Mild wood influence frames very fresh red and blue pinot fruit, earth and mineral-infused aromas that are very Gevrey in basic character that give way to voluminous and cool middle weight flavors that possess fine dry extract that imparts a lovely sense of volume as well as buffers the moderately firm tannins on the persistent finish. This should reward 5 to 7 years of bottle age.
