Deeper and more serious, Collardot's 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Les Enseignères mingles scents of pear and orange oil with hints of mint and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and tensile, it's racy and chiseled, with fine depth at the core.
2 x 350 litre barrels, one of them new. Mid lemon. Rather a pungent reductive character. Builds in volume on the palate but will need to shrug off the reductive character. Firm acidity to finish.
More subtle, though hardly invisible, wood frames cool, pretty and ripe aromas of citrus zest, white orchard fruit and a plenitude of floral influences. The generously proportioned but solidly punchy medium weight flavors coat the palate with sappy dry extract that also buffers the moderately firm acid spine shaping the balanced and sneaky long finish. This lovely effort could use better depth so a few years of cellaring should prove beneficial.
