Fieuzal's dry white is one of the stronger efforts from the 1996 vintage. It exhibits a smoky, lavishly wooded nose with attractive sweet fruit. The wine possesses high acidity, but the requisite richness and creaminess in its texture to hold up to the wine's structure. It should close down and need 5-7 years of cellaring. Although leaner and less opulent than the top vintages of Fieuzal, it is one of the vintage's successes.
Fun to smell, with intriguing aromas of lemon, lime, and honeysuckle, but offers less on the palate. Medium-bodied, with fresh acidity and a lemony, creamy aftertaste.
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 17/20 points.
