A blend of two undisclosed vineyards, Fortunate Son's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon The Dreamer is darker, richer and warmer than the 2018 version, yet still balanced, delivering ripe black cherries, loamy earth and dried spices. It's medium to full-bodied, softly dusty and long on the finish.
Coming from two vineyards, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon The Dreamer sports a vivid purple hue to go with beautiful aromatics of darker currants, ripe cranberries, leafy tobacco, and spring flowers. I love its balance, it's medium to full-bodied, has gorgeous tannins, and a great finish.
A shimmering, lucid, ruby colour. Seductive aromas of ripe blackberry fruit, graphite, and suave tannins. Fresh, fragrant, polished and full of savoury spices atop plush fruit, leading to a medium to full-bodied finish that builds in stature through a wealth of herbs and spices. A 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 30-32 months in French oak barriques. Jayson Woodbridge purchased the David Fulton Vineyard in St. Helena on Fulton Lane, and a winery on site is now the home of Fortunate Son and 5.8 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon vines managed by Jim Barbour. Woodbridge appointed his son Cameron as cellar master in 2023. Woodbridge acquired a second estate vineyard for the Fortunate Son label in 2022 called Larkmead Vineyards. The 7.5 hectare ranch has been renamed True Romance and will serve as the site of a future Fortunate Son winery and estate slated to open in 2027.
