The 2018 Barbaresco Rombone is magnificent. Bright and translucent, the Rombone captures the intense spiciness and minerality that are so typical of Treiso and this sector in particular. The power, intensity and nuance here are simply remarkable. Aging in cask helps preserve some of the more subtler notes in the wine that were previously obscured by French oak. The 2018 is superb, and also quite possibly the best edition of this wine I have ever tasted.

Rose, violet, mint, sun-baked earth and red berry aromas emerge on this elegantly structured wine. The firm palate offers mature wild cherry, white pepper, chopped herb and star anise while tightly wound but polished tannins provide support. Let the tannins unwind then enjoy.
