The 2009 Clos de Vougeot Le Grand Montpertuis is a pretty, nuanced wine. The aromas and flavors are nicely layered in this subtle, refined wine. All of the elements come together beautifully on the expansive finish. This is quite a bit more delicate and feminine than the Pres du Cellier tasted alongside it. The Grand Montpertuis is small parcel of 30 ares within Clos de Vougeot that was farmed en fermage by Jean Tardy until 2008. The estate had always fermented the parcels separately and blended the juice, but this is the first year the two parcels have been bottled separately. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2034.
