The 2014 Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru has a clean and precise nose, quite taciturn at first but opening like the Charmes-Chambertin with marine-tinged red and black fruit. But for a Griotte, this is very well behaved! The palate is very well structured with commendable precision, nicely focused, though I would have sought more complexity and mineralité on the finish. Still, this is a fine Griotte, even if it might not be the best ever produced at this address.
