A pure expression of Sangiovese, the 2013 Orcia Petrucci shows a dark core of ripe cherry and black currant. The Orcia territory exhibits a savory quality that you certainly feel here. It might remind you of black olive or grilled oregano. Campfire ash, tar and licorice also appear. The wine offers great textural richness in the mouth with depth and a surprising touch of cherry sweetness on the close.

An impressive wine that has plenty of poise and fresh, well-crafted tannins. It has got flavors of ripe blackberries, blackcurrants and spices building up to the chocolate at the finish. Nicely balanced.
