A tantalizing flicker of juniper peeks in as the core of steeped plum and black currant fruit steadily builds through the finish. Leather and humus notes hang in the background. This should develop well in the cellar. Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.

Jancis Robinson (17.50)

Gently leafy on the nose then quite stemmy and fresh on the palate. Firm, chewy and a complex mix of leafy graphite, sweet red fruit and hint of meatiness. Deliciously firm and fragrant and promising. (JH)
