Jancis Robinson (16.50)

25% whole bunch. Riechers describes this as ‘an amazing site’ that’s always the last to be picked. Dijon and Pommard clones.
Deeper crimson. More obvious fruit than the blend of vineyards and Nysa Vineyard bottlings, and silky texture and very refreshing. Light bitterness on the end.

Robert Parker (94)

The 2019 Pinot Noir Luminous Hills Vineyard has a medium ruby-purple color and intense aromas of cranberries and blueberries, Angostura bitters, tea leaves, earth and woodsmoke. The palate is uplifted and silky, with intense, perfumed flavors and an ethereal finish. It offers power, structure and broody fruits in a very approachable frame.

Vinous (94)

Shimmering magenta. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes spice- and mineral-accented cherry, Chambord and incense, along with a suave floral topnote. Appealingly sweet and animated on the palate, offering concentrated, sharply defined red and blue fruit preserve, spicecake and floral pastille flavors that show unlikely litheness for their heft. Polished tannins come in slowly on an impressively long, focused finish that strongly echoes the red fruit and floral notes. One-third whole clusters.

Decanter (96)

A blend of Davis and Dijon clones in this vineyard equals detailed and complex notes of pomegranate and cherry, with floral notes and a suggestion of salty minerality. The incredibly steep, somewhat extreme hillside vineyard in Yamhill-Carlton produces an exotic, unique wine that is often both the ripest and the highest in acidity among the Audeant cellar. There is a tannic and structured feel on the palate, but nothing astringent here, just subtly lifted fruit balanced by a robust feel.

James Suckling (93)

Aromas of raspberry and hibiscus follow through to a full-bodied palate with firm tannins and a fresh finish. A little austere now, but will improve nicely with age. Better in 2024 when it will have opened.
