A field blend of 38% Petite Sirah, 25% Petit Verdot, 12% Zinfandel and 25% Merlot, the 2017 Proprietary Red Les Bouquinistes sports a medium to deep garnet-purple color. It comes galloping out of the glass with fun, frolicking black cherry pie, black raspberries and plum preserves scents plus wafts of dried leaves, spice cake, wild thyme and dusty earth. Medium-bodied, the palate offers loads of freshness with bags of earthy/savory layers with a chewy frame, finishing with great freshness and harmony. 690 cases were made.
Aromas of grilled meat, tar and boysenberries. Medium to full body, creamy and chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Shows tension and balance for this wine. 38% petite sirah, 25% merlot, 25% petit verdot and 12% zinfandel.
The 2017 Les Bouquinistes, a field blend of Petit Sirah, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Zinfandel, is one of the most intriguing wines in this range from Coup de Foudre. Sweet floral notes, red cherry fruit, pomegranate and mint all race through a wine that is racy and exuberant, and yet retains a terrific sense of energy. The 2017 is such a gorgeous wine.
