A blend of Bordeaux varieties, the 2016 M by Marciano displays a medium to deep garnet-purple color. It is a little youthfully subdued to begin, opening with delicate notions of fresh mulberries, black cherries and warm blackcurrants with hints of raspberry leaves, forest floor, violets and black tea plus touches of cedar chest and charcoal. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has fantastic energy, with layers of black fruits and earthy sparks supported by lovely freshness and a solid grainy texture, finishing long with an herbal lift.
A blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Cabernet Franc that spent 22 months brought up in 70% new oak, the 2016 M Proprietary Red Wine is a stunner, offering awesome blackcurrants, tobacco leaf, truffle, and chocolate aromas. It's full-bodied, with a seamless, layered style and a great finish.
The 2016 M is plump, juicy and super-expressive - all qualities that give it tons of near- and medium-term appeal. Succulent red cherry, red plum, spice, cedar, licorice and incense are front and center. Floral and spiced Cabernet Franc aromatics add a lovely kick of brightness to this blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Cabernet Franc. This is such a gorgeous wine.
