Tasted at the Doisy-Védrines vertical at the château, the 1986 Château Doisy-Védrines lacks some harmony on the nose, taking time to settle. Apricot, honey and a touch of marmalade, though it lacks the purity of later vintages and seems a bit alcoholic. The palate is slightly better with edgy marmalade and quince notes, although there is a touch of dryness toward the finish. This is probably just past its plateau
