The 1996 Sena has a perfumed bouquet of red berry fruit, balsam and cedar that is sedate and composed. The palate is medium-bodied with chalky tannins on the entry. There is a little hardness here, pointed acidity and a brittle finish. It remains fresh and vibrant, with an almost old school Claret like austere finish.

Impressive marriage of polish and grip. This firm red shows mouthfilling fruit, with notes of cassis, blackberry and plum, backed by vanilla and toasty oak notes, brightened by clean, fresh acidity and given a firm backbone of ripe, clean tannins.
